Police forum to focus on teen drug use Print

Clarington parents are invited to learn about teen drug use during a forum being put on by the Durham Regional Police this Monday.

In an ongoing effort to keep parents and the members of the community informed about issues related to our youth, the Clarington Parent/Police Coalition is inviting the public, parents and teachers to a forum that focuses on drug use.

Organizers note that many young people struggle with illegal drug use. Parents can learn about the new trends, the terminology and safety measures regarding the kinds of drugs  children are exposed to.

Many of the drugs parents might have experimented with in high school have drastically changed today. Children are also experimenting with legal drugs in dangerous ways. Organizers invite parents to come learn how they can possibly prevent their children from becoming victims.

The “Youth and Drugs in our Community"  will be held on Monday April 30th, 2012 at John M James Public School, 175 Mearns Avenue in Bowmanville from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

This event is free.
