Teen stabbed in Courtice Print

Durham Regional Police report that a 17-year-old male teenager from Clarington is recovering after being stabbed on Friday.

On Friday February 10, 2012 at approximately 10:45 p.m. officers from Central East Division attended Nash Road in Courtice for an armed person. Upon arrival, police located a male suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police were quickly able to identify a suspect.

Police then attended a Clarington address and arrested a male without incident. Investigators believe the altercation began as a street level robbery.

A 15-year-old male Clarington youth is charged with: Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing. The youth cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
