Bowmanville arrest for Oshawa home invasion Print

Durham Regional Police report that a Clarington man is among two males were arrested following a home invasion in Oshawa.

According to police, on Thursday January 26, 2012 at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers from Central East Division responded to a reported home invasion on Attersley Drive in Oshawa. A lone male victim was assaulted by two male suspects, one armed with a homemade martial art weapon, resulting in multiple injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment to his non-life-threatening injuries and later released. Both suspects fled the scene and were not located by responding officers.

Officers then attended a residence on Elford Drive in Bowmanville where they located and arrested one suspect. The second male barricaded himself inside the residence, which resulted in a DRPS incident command team being deployed. Tactical Support Unit officers arrested the second male suspect, without incident, as he attempted to flee the residence.

A 29 year-old resident of Elford Drive in Bowmanville and a 24 year-old Oshawa man are charged with: Break & Enter and Commit; Assault with a Weapon; Disguise with Intent and Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace. Both accused were held for a bail hearing.
