Newcastle road restrictions PDF Print E-mail

Motorists in Newcastle will find their drive a little more difficult for the next week, thanks to road construction in the Village.

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising residents and businesses that lane restrictions will be in effect at the intersection of King Avenue and Mill Street (Regional Road 17) in Newcastle Village in the Municipality of Clarington for approximately one week.

The lane restrictions are scheduled to be in place from Oct. 28 until Nov. 4.

The construction work will be at the intersection of King Avenue and Mill Street in Newcastle, and the lane restrictions will be in place for the safety of motorists and construction workers during road resurfacing work.

In addition, parking spaces on King Avenue, immediately east and west of Mill Street, will be temporarily blocked off to complete the resurfacing. The accessible parking space (for those with an accessible parking permit) in front of Shoppers Drug Mart will be temporarily relocated to the east and remain on the south side of the road. Motorists should expect traffic delays, and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of themselves and the construction workers.

Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
