Police seek help in assault PDF Print E-mail

Durham Regional Police are investigating after a 28-year-old Clarington woman reported being grabbed near a transit shelter in Bowmanville early Sunday morning.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 28, 2011 the victim was alone at a GO Transit bench on King Street West in Bowmanville after an argument with her friend. She remembers passing out and awaking to two men who were touching her inappropriately. She screamed and the two males fled the area. She ran for help and was assisted by a pizza delivery driver, who called police around 1:45 a.m.

The two suspects are described as male, white, both wearing shorts, baseball caps and running shoes.

Investigators want to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the GO bus shelter on King Street West in Bowmanville (between Waverly Road and Scugog Street) late Saturday night or in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 28.

Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Cst. Sabo of the Sexual Assault Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5248.
