Flooding has forced the closure of a section of Baseline Road in Bowmanville. The Municipality of Clarington has advised residents living between Spry and Hunt Streets on Baseline Road that the roadway has been shut off due to the high level of Bowmanville Creek. Spry Street can be accessed from Waverley Road/Regional Road 57 while Hunt Street can be accessed from Liberty Street. Baseline Road was shut down Monday, January 25, and will remain closed to traffic until Bowmanville Creek's water levels drop.
