A Clarington martial arts school is looking for help to get its athletes to a major international competition in Mexico.
Silent Tiger Martial Arts is looking for donations and sponsorships from local businesses and individuals as it seeks to represent Canada at the World Congress of Amateur Athletes (WCOAA) Goodwill games in Mexico this year. The club is seeking to send both youth and adult members to the event.
Members of the martial arts team qualified for the games through placing in tournaments and competitions. The club is looking for assistance from the community in defraying some of the $1500 cost per competitor for the trip (which includes travel, tournament fees, uniforms and warm up suits).
Sponsorship packages (including business name embroidered on uniforms and links to the club's website) are available.
Donations can be sent to Team Canada, c/o Angela Fice or Cindy Walerowich at 248 Simpson Ave., Unit B, Bowmanville, Ontario, L1C 2J3.
