True golf fanatics will love the Polar Chili Golf Classic being held in Bowmanville on February 6. After all, what's not to love about golfing in the snow? The event features nine holes of golf on a snow covered course, complete with cone marked tees, hoola hoop holes and tennis balls. Registration is $30 per golfer and includes a game of golf, a lunch, hot & cold beverages and door prizes. Lunch features a chili cook off, with participants judging the best batch cooked by participating restaurants and caterers. There are three tee times available, 9:30 am, 11:00 am and 12:30 pm The Polar Chili Golf Classic benefits the Clarington Project, an initiative of Community Living Oshawa/Clarington. The Clarington Project is an adult day program located in Bowmaville that supports people with intellectual disabilities. Members are exposed to a variety of activities, recreation, educational and volunteer opportunities. Funds raised go towards day-to-day support, supplies, and materials.
